Our bride, Carey immediately knew what she wants when she stepped in our boutique. A simple mermaid gown that shows off her curves with layer and layer of tulle netting at the bottom to add on a bit of playfulness in this elegant wedding gown.

 The result?

A beautiful ravishing bridal gown that made our bride looking as stunning as ever. With her sharp looks and porcelain complexion, Carey looks super gorgeous in her pre-wedding and actual day photos.

 And for her actual day, she chose to wear a princessey lace wedding gown with a simple waistband that cinched on her waist.

Train : Adding Elegantness to Your Bridal Gown

When you are shopping for your wedding gown, the train is one of the elements that needs your to be considered carefully. In the Vitorian era, a long train symbolizes the status of the bride. The longer the train, the higher is the status.

When thinking about the length of train to choose from, it is important to consider not only the length but also the comfort, cost and the formality of your wedding. Do you want a long, royal train similar to the one Kate Middleton wore or a short sweep train for trouble-free dancing? Many brides might consider a sweep train to be the practical choice because it doesn't need to be re-arranged during the wedding, but choosing to have a long train can make any bride feel like a queen.

Here are the different types of trains:

1) Sweep train

A small swish of a train that trails about six inches on the floor. This style works well on a slim fitting gown since the back hem is only a few inches longer than the front hem.

2) Chapel train

A train that extends 12 to 18 inches along the floor and is slightly longer than the sweep. It is currently the most popular because it is elegant yet not overly heavy.

3) Cathedral train

This train extends 22 or more inches along the floor and gives the dress a fairy tale look. Cathedral-style gowns usually have a removable train or bustling option.

4) Royal or Monarch train

A train that extends a yard or more on the floor. It is very dramatic and is the type the royals would wear on their wedding.

As a plus sized bride, shopping for the wedding gown can be the most challenging task in the whole wedding preparation, especially when you are planning to rent your gowns from a bridal house.

As a short waisted woman myself, I have to admit that finding clothes that flatter my body shape can be quite a challenge. And it is even more challenging  when it comes to looking for a wedding gown that look good on me.

Many stylist would suggest short waisted brides to wear gown with empire cuts in order to hide your short waist. But empire cuts gown can sometimes make you look like a pregnant woman if it is not done correctly.

In order to prevent guest from congratulating you on your non-existence pregnancy, here are some fabulous gown designs that can flatter your body shape.

1) High waisted wedding gown cuts with a medium width waist band helped to give your a more defined waistline. 

2) Wedding gown that has no definite waistline will give and illusion to make you look like you have a longer waist.

3) Empire cut wedding gown with 7 panels skirts. This is the type of empire cutting that slim you up and doesn't look like a maternity dress.
