Choosing the Perfect Attire for the Groom
Labels: Advice, Groom's Suits
Having spoken to a couple grooms-to-be, we found out that most grooms are stuck and confused when it comes to choosing the right wedding outfit. At most wedding preparations, couples tend to focus more on the wedding gown and less on the groom’s attire.
To help make things easier for the grooms, here is a list of styles that grooms may consider when shopping for his suits.
Morning jacket:
The most classy and formal option available for your groom. Single breasted with a large tail at the back, coats are usually black or grey. Traditionally worn with a top hat, striped trousers and waistcoat this is a sophisticated look often worn by royals so ensure this is in keeping with the style of the wedding.
Traditional tuxedo or black tie:
Usually the choice for an evening soiree, with plenty of options including a variety of different lapels. Choose black or grey for the classic look or lighter shades for a fun or more casual look. Usually worn with a bow tie (preferably not clip on) and flat-front trousers.
You can easily modernise this classic style to achieve a more contemporary look. However, important to note is that if you choose a more modern jacket you can update the black tie look by choosing a darker shirt and a regular tie rather than a bow. You can also substitute the braces for a regular belt.
Dinner jacket:
Probably the most casual option available and great for summer weddings, usually white or cream. Wear with dark, possibly striped, trousers.

Wedding Gown Shopping Preparations

Let’s take a look at the ultimate wedding gown shopping tips:
1) Do some research to have a rough idea on the look that you would like to have on your wedding. Do you want to look classy and elegant or you prefer to look relax and free on your big day.
2) Be decisive over your wedding theme can make gown shopping a lot easier too. For example, if you are having a beach wedding, you may want to wear a flowy chiffon wedding gown instead of a classic ball gown, whereas, if you are having your wedding in a grand ballroom, an elegant lacy gown would be more appropriate.
3) Bring along a close friend or family member when you are shopping for your dream gown. It is always advisable to have someone whom you trusted to give you their honest opinions on how you look in the wedding gowns that you have tried.
4) Wedding gown shopping should be done at least 4 months in advance so that your designer/tailor has ample time to sew your wedding gown to perfection. It is important to allow some time buffer because you might need some additional alterations done.
5) Keep your wedding gown designer informed if you have plans to loose or gain further weight prior to the wedding. This will help them to give you a better advice on the shapes and cuts that will look the best on you.
Wedding gown shopping can be a lot of fun when you have made the necessary preparations. Above all, the most important thing for a bride to do is to relax, keep calm and enjoy the whole process.
